WATER POLLUTION CONTROL FACILITY UPGRADES, MERIDEN, CT

The work involves upgrade of the 11.6 million gallon per day (mgd) Water Pollution Control Facility (WPCF) to facilitate biological nitrogen removal (BNR), including upgrade of the solids processing train and conversion to disinfection with sodium hypochlorite. General Contractor will furnish all labor, materials, equipment and incidentals necessary and make modifications to the Water Pollution Control Facility as specified. The existing Facility is comprised primarily of 16 major buildings and structures including Harbor Brook Pump Station, Inlet Works Building, Primary Clarifiers and Splitter Box, Primary Sludge Pump Station, First Stage Aeration Basins and Clarifiers, Chlorine Building, Dechlorination Building, Chlorine Contact Tanks and Cascade Aerator, Administration Building, Gravity Thickener Building, Digester Complex, Sludge Handling Building, Vacuum Filter Building, and three below grade pipe galleries connecting various buildings.
